Mum shares ‘genius’ hack to quickly double fridge space for Christmas
Christmas is the season for eating – but having more food in the house than usual can lead to an overflowing fridge.
With all the elements of a festive-themed lunch prepared, it doesn’t take long for your shelves to fill up.
But a woman has revealed a savvy trick that doubles the amount of space she has in her fridge so that she can fit everything in – and it’s a Christmas game-changer.
The mum from the US used strategically placed cooking racks, to conveniently stack bowls and containers on top of one another.
She shared an image of her now five-tier fridge to Facebook to demonstrate the simple trick – and fellow users were blown away.
The post read: “Remember to use your cooling racks for extra space around the holidays”.
If you don’t have any oven racks to spare, you can always use baking trays or chopping boards.
You can also move the existing shelves around to make room for more food, and the make-do oven rack dividers.
But make sure that all of your containers are properly covered first so as not to contaminate anything underneath.
Many Facebook users praised her for sharing the handy tip, as they said it would make Christmas prep so much easier.
One said: “That is an awesome idea!”
Another added: “How didn’t I think of this before? Genius.”
And a third shocked responder said they couldn’t believe they’d never thought of the idea themselves.
